Frank Beach

Community activist and Dunkirk resident Frank Beach is the Democratic and Working Family Party endorsed candidate for the city of Dunkirk Councilman At Large position in the upcoming 2019 election.

He was raised in Dunkirk and is a Cardinal Mindszenty High School graduate. After graduating from college and a successful music career, he relocated to his wife’s hometown in Indiana, where they raised their family There he retired in 2016 as the President of a National Financial Services corporation and, with his wife, moved back to his hometown of Dunkirk.

Since returning, he has focused his full time availability and energy on the vision and a determination to be involved and invested in his hometown’s resurgence and quality growth. To that end, in December 2018, he initiated the advocacy for keeping Brooks Hospital on Central Avenue in Dunkirk, a fight he is not willing to give up. As a visionary, he believes in the need for training, education and child care availability as a city and county wide priority; this will provide a sustainable qualified local workforce insuring the retention and longevity of new industry, retail and service providers in support of continued future city growth.

“We must continue to work with our area’s employers, educators and post high school campuses to provide opportunities to insure local residents have the training and skills necessary to compete for and be successful in obtaining the jobs of the future,” Beach says. “We must have a qualified workforce to fill the jobs and affordable and available childcare for our working families.”

As a member of Revitalize Dunkirk, the board of directors of CHRIC and with extensive experience and knowledge in real estate and finance, Beach will work to expand homeownership and rehabilitation opportunities for all residents. He will look to manage, with enhanced guidelines and restrictions, absentee landlord and other rental property investors with reserve requirements, a “First Look” purchase program for owner occupying buyers and down payment assistance programs.

As for his music career, he formed “The Rising” a project, focused on promoting the city of Dunkirk and its residents. This has provided the opportunity to donate time and energy to several organizations and benefit events in support of area residents and group’s needs. He is a member of the First Ward Falcons, Knights of Columbus, Kosciuszko Club, Columbus Club and a supporter of Dunkirk Historical Society, Polka Fest, Beach Clean Up, National Night Out and many other civic events promoting Dunkirk.

Beach brings a no-nonsense, business oriented, full time availability and willingness to serve all the residents of Dunkirk.

“I am an outspoken advocate for independent thinking, total transparency, open lines of communication and collaboration,” Beach adds. “I won’t hesitate to disagree or to state my opposing opinion when I believe the best interests of the residents are not being served. I will always work toward progress for our city and ensure that prosperity and pride are evident in all that we do.”
