City of Dunkirk Fire Department releases September numbers
The Dunkirk Fire Department responded to 213 calls in September. Five calls were related to fires, 171 were for rescue and emergency medical services, six were hazardous condition calls, 15 were service calls, six were good intent calls, nine were false alarms and one was a special incident call.
The department suffered no losses in equipment and helped in mutual aid calls on 20 occasions. There was a total of 51 overlapping calls with average response time for EMS being three minutes and three seconds and fire at one minute and five seconds. Average time spent on scene was 16 minutes and 45 seconds.
