SHERMAN — A Jamestown man, stopped for a traffic violation, is in hot water after Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies found drugs and other items in his vehicle.

At about 9:18 p.m. Friday, deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 430. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Scott C. Cederquist, 60. An investigation into the incident revealed that Cederquist was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs and was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and metal knuckles.

It was also found that Cederquist had an active arrest warrant out of the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies charged Cederquist with DWAI-drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Cederquist was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned on the arrest warrant and is scheduled to be in the Town of Sherman Court to answer to the additional charges.
