Barker Library November activities

The Darwin R. Barker featured artist for November is Carolyn Grady. A fine artist in Western New York, her work captures the mystery and joy in interior scenes, portraits and landscapes. Her oil paintings explore psychological dimension behind everyday reality. See her portraits at the library, 7 Day St., Fredonia during the month of November.

Throughout November, storytimes will be held Mondays at 10:15 a.m. for preschoolers and Tuesdays, afterschool at 4:15 for all ages. Come for stories, movies, crafts and play. All children are welcome. No registration is necessary.

Meditations in Paint will take place Tuesday, Nov. 12 and Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Join local artist, D’Arsie Manzella, for a peaceful painting experience. Ten spaces are available. Registration is required. Call 672-80511, email barker@netsync.net or stop at the circulation desk.

The Barker Library Book Club will meet on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. to discuss John Steinbeck’s “The Grapes of Wrath.” Refreshments will be served. All are welcome. To become a member of the book club, send an e-mail to barkerchildrensroom@gmail.com.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 10:15, come to a Playdate in the Children’s Room. give the little ones an introduction to the Library as they socialize with others and engage in interactive, engaging, sensory experiences. Caregivers may take home “play recipes” for replicating play experiences at home. For children 0 to 4 and their caregivers. Older siblings are welcome. No registration is required.
