Boutwell Hill Ski Club to hold open house and ski swap

The Boutwell Hill Ski Club will hold a ski swap Saturday, November 9 at the Whiskey Hill Saloon in Cassadaga from 1-4 p.m.

The event will be an opportunity to learn about the organization and the trails it maintains, meet other skiers and buy or sell used equipment.

Now in its fifth year, BHSC is a non-profit organization that maintains and grooms cross-country skiing trails in the Boutwell Hill State Forest in the Town of Charlotte that are open to the public free of charge.

“We actually aren’t a club or membership organization,” said Andy Dickson, co-founder and President. “We welcome anyone and everyone interested in skiing or volunteering.”

The Boutwell Hill Ski Club enjoys a stewardship agreement with the NYSDEC that allows it to develop the cross-country skiing trail system in the Boutwell Hill State Forest. The 5 miles of trails that the club has developed and grooms are complimented by additional multi-use roads and back-country skiing trails. Located on the Chautauqua Ridge, the trails receive more snow than any other location in Western New York.
