Man put in hospital after Hanover crash

HANOVER — A crash late Wednesday evening in the town of Hanover put the driver in the hospital and led to a driving while intoxicated charge.
At about 11:58 p.m., deputies were dispatched with Forestville EMS to a one vehicle personal injury accident on Creek Road. The operator of the vehicle, Nathaniel Smith, stated he was traveling on Creek Road and attempted to avoid striking two deer and slid off the roadway into the ditch. Smith was transported to Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk for non-life threatening injuries.
Following an investigation into incident, deputies arrested and charged Smith with DWI. Smith will answer his charge at a later date in the Town of Hanover Court.
