Public’s help sought in rash of Ripley burglaries

RIPLEY — A number of burglaries during the months of October and November has led to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department to request assistance from the public.

Sheriff’s officials are asking residents who have information regarding the incidents to call the department’s WeTip number at 800-78-CRIME.

Officials also are reminding residents in Ripley to make sure they are securing their homes, garages, barns and vehicles. “This will help protect you, your family and property from harm,” the release notes. “Also, if you observe suspicious activity, please contact the police immediately to report what you have observed.”
