UPDATE: Westfield man avoids injury after crash into creek

No injuries were reported Wednesday after a vehicle went off Webster Road in the town of Pomfret and landed upside down in a creek. The Fredonia Fire Department was called to the accident around 4 p.m. The driver was wearing his seat belt and declined treatment after getting out of the vehicle.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies reported that the operator of the vehicle was identified as Kenneth Beckwith of Westfield.

Beckwith was able to exit the vehicle on his own and was assisted out of the creek bed by fire personnel. Beckwith was evaluated by EMS personnel at the scene and was released with minor injuries. Webster Road was shut down for a short period of time. There are no charges being placed as a result of the crash.
