PORTLAND — A physical altercation on Friday morning has led to charges against a Westfield man.

At about 9:32 a.m., Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to an incident that occurred at the Finley Road residence in the town. An investigation of the incident revealed that David Zapata, 30, allegedly grabbed and dragged another person throughout the residence.

During the altercation David did not allow that person to leave the residence. During the altercation David did remove a .22 caliber rifle from the residence and proceed to the wooded area behind the house.

K9 Drake was deployed into the wooded area and was able to locate the long gun in the wooded area that was used during the incident. Zapata was placed into custody without incident and taken to Chautauqua County Jail awaiting arraignment.
