Light Up Cassadaga set for Saturday

Expect a visit from Santa Saturday in Cassadaga.

CASSADAGA — The village of Cassadaga and the civic organization Citizens for a Better Cassadaga invite all to the second annual Light Up Cassadaga celebration on Saturday, Dec. 7. An afternoon of events is planned to give area residents a great opportunity to welcome the holidays.

Events will start at 2 p.m. with a Carol Sing at the Village Hall on Mill Street. The singing will be led by a student group from Cassadaga Valley Central School. Following the Carol Sing, at approximately 3 p.m., all are encouraged to join in a short walk to the Village Common (corner Rt. 60 and Maple Avenue) to greet Santa, who will be arriving on his fire truck. Hot chocolate and a gift will be provided by the Cassadaga Fire Department and Auxiliary from 3-5 p.m. The Cassadaga Library will host an open house with cookies, crafts and free books from 3 to 5 p.m.

At 5 p.m., on the Village Common, there will be more caroling and a Remembrance Tree observance. The Common will be lit with holiday lights and decorations sponsored by community businesses.

All are invited to join Cassadaga residents and organizations in these free events to kick off the holiday season.
