Man charged after being found with firearm at parade

JAMESTOWN — A North Carolina man, without a New York state pistol permit, was charged after driving around barricades during the annual Christmas parade in the city.

State Police in Jamestown charged Tim Batchelor, 21, of Zebulon, with criminal possession of a firearm.

Troopers pulled Batchelor over on Fourth Street after the parade incident. A Smith & Wesson SD70 handgun was observed inside the vehicle in plain sight and Batchelor was charged when it was confirmed that he didn’t have a permit.

Batchelor was processed at Jamestown and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, pending arraignment.
