Dunkirk’s pickle ball court is open for ice skating

Mayor Wilfred Rosas is pleased to announce that the City of Dunkirk’s Pickle Ball Court located next to the Wright Park splash pad is now open for ice skating. “Thanks to our City Firefighters, the pickle ball court has now been filled with water and is ready for everyone, young and old, to lace up their skates and ‘go ice skating’ in what I hope to become a family tradition.” Mayor Rosas said.

The court will be open daily, weather permitting, and will be lighted in the evenings from 6:30 P.M. – 9:30 P.M.

Mayor Rosas said, “When the pickle ball court was designed it was designed for year round enjoyment, and that included ice skating. To be able to have our children, young people and families utilize this facility in the winter as well as the summer is just one more reason to be proud of all that we have to offer here on the shores of Lake Erie.”

“I would also like to give special recognition and thanks to Ryan Hall, Recreation Department Coordinator, for the added time and effort that he has put into helping to make ice skating on the pickle ball court possible.” The Mayor stated, “And I invite everyone to come out and skate!”
