Family Yoga planned for Audubon January 16

Submitted Photo Posing, dancing, and laughing are all part of the Family Yoga class set for Audubon Community Nature Center on Thursday, Jan. 16.

JAMESTOWN — Audubon Community Nature Center is offering a special opportunity for families this winter.

On Thursday, Jan. 16, from 5 to 6 p.m., certified Kidding Around Yoga (KAY) instructor Loretta Cheney will host a Family Yoga class. The class will repeat on Thursday, Feb. 20.

KAY programs are designed around a structure that includes lots of music and games, are known for its “Sarge Salutation,” and guide participants into a deep state of relaxation as they journey to their own “Secret Garden.” Additional experiences include brief meditation practices, mindfulness activities, breathing exercises, and lots of posing, dancing, and laughing.

Participants are requested to come in or bring comfortable clothing.

The fee for the program is $16 for adults (16 and over), $12 for Nature Center members, and $9 for children ages 4 to 15.

Paid reservations are required by Tuesday, Jan. 14, and can be made by calling 569-2345 during business hours or going to AudubonCNC.org/Programs and clicking on “Current Schedule.”

Walk-ins may be accepted if there is room; call for availability after the deadline.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren.
