Borrello to share marketing advice in campus talk

New York State Sen. George Borrello, who achieved entrepreneurial success in his 20s before entering politics, will share his marketing experience, which includes founding Top Shelf Marketing, on Thursday at 6 p.m., at the State University of New York at Fredonia.

What Sen. Borrello learned and the tools he used to drive his business achievements will be the focus of his talk in Williams Center Room S204.

Borrello grew Top Shelf Marketing, a supplier to the hospitality industry, into a nationally recognized firm before merging it with another company, where he went on to serve 20 years in executive management. Borrello and his wife, Kelly, own three area businesses, Cabana Sam’s Sunset Bay Grill, Sunset Bay Beach Club and a new venture, Villaggio Italiano Pizza & Pasta.

A graduate of Fredonia High School and Purdue University, Borrello, a Republican, served eight years in the Chautauqua County Legislature and two years as Chautauqua County Executive. He was elected to the State Senate in 2019 in a special election to fill the 57th Senate District seat previously held by Catharine Young. His district includes Chautauqua, Allegany and Cattaraugus counties and parts of Livingston County.

The talk, hosted by the campus chapter of the American Marketing Association, is free and open to the public.
