Melissa Sorci-Taft of the #myfredonia committee and Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce recently received a check for $1,000 from Dunkirk-Fredonia Rotary Club President Marcie Lukach and Treasurer Jefferson Westwood.

A unanimous D&F Rotary Board vote that was brought to all club members to assist #myfredonia with a monetary donation, was wholeheartedly approved. Taft stated the donation was used for promotional efforts to become the #1 small town/village in the Small Business Revolution sponsored by Deluxe. Season 5 of the Small Business Revolution series will feature Fredonia and its small businesses. $500,000 will be awarded and shared between seven Fredonia businesses.

Dunkirk-Fredonia Rotary Club meets each Thursday at noon at the Beaver Club in Fredonia during the winter months. Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk hosts the weekly meetings during summer and fall. Each meeting features a guest speaker and Students of the Month receive recognition on a bi-weekly basis. Seniors from Dunkirk and Fredonia high schools along with students from BOCES P-Tech are recognized.
