Enjoy creative cuisine March 9 at musical fundraiser

IRVING — Who’s hungry for a swampy supper? Loosen your belts because the cast and crew of Silver Creek High School’s upcoming production of “Shrek the Musical” are hosting a Duloc dinner fundraiser Monday, March 9, at Sunset Bay Restaurant, 954 Main Road, Irving. The community is encouraged to support the district’s talented students while enjoying a festive feast at the 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. seating.

Tickets for the three-course, ogre-themed meal including soft drink cost $15 and may be purchased in advance from cast members or advisor Carolyn Laurenzi-Timmerman, who is reachable by phone at (716) 934-2603, ext. 2165 or via e-mail at claurenzi@silvercreekschools.org. Walk-ins are not guaranteed and those interested are advised to purchase advance tickets.

Duloc Dinner Menu

¯ Appetizer is Utica Greens & Beans (Escarole, prosciutto, hot cherry peppers, breadcrumbs, Romano cheese)

¯ Choice of three entrees: Moldy Woodchuck (sirloin with mushroom demi glaze), Mildewed Pigeon (chicken with pesto and blistered cherry tomatoes) or Worms with Slime (Linguine with roasted vegetables). All entrees accompanied by a side of broccolini with parmesan and garlic.

¯ Dessert is Grasshopper pie with Oreos, mint and marshmallow

The meal will be prepared by Sunset Bay chef Mike Grisanti, who has a son and daughter who attend SCCS, and Phillip McMullen, choral director at the middle and high schools. The cast and crew will wait on the tables, wash dishes and handle clean-up.
