Heritage administrator earns high ranking

Cheryl Farr

GERRY — Cheryl A. Farr, administrator at The Green, a Heritage rehabilitation and skilled nursing community in Greenhurst, recently earned the title of Health Services Executive from the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards.

Farr has served in the ministry of long-term care with Heritage Ministries since 1995 and has held several positions throughout the progression of her career, including payroll administrator, human resource director, and administrator.

Farr currently serves as the administrator at The Green, where she manages the 134-bed skilled nursing, memory care, and short-term rehabilitation community. She shared that she is dedicated and passionate about making a difference in the life of each resident.

She stated, “I’m excited to add this layer of knowledge to my credentials and feel prepared to serve our residents over any of our continuums of care.”

Jeremy Rutter, Heritage vice president of skilled nursing operations stated, “(This) is the highest qualification available from the governing body of nursing home administrators, it means Cheryl went above and beyond what is required for her profession. Already a nationally recognized nursing home administrator, Cheryl was awarded the prestigious Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award in 2019, she now joins an even more elite group of healthcare administrators as one of only seven Health Services Executives qualified administrators in New York state. The Green, and the entire Heritage family, is blessed to have such an exceptional leader serving others through Christ-centered ministries which promote Hope, Dignity, and Purposeful Living.”

Heritage Ministries founded as the Orphanage and Homes of the Free Methodist Church in 1886 and has grown from its original campus to six locations in New York with additional affiliations across the United States.

As a not-for-profit provider of senior care and housing, Heritage is a leader in the industry, employing approximately 1,500 team members, and serving over 2,500 individuals annually. With locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Washington, Heritage and its affiliates provide rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, independent retirement housing, and assisted living. Homestead Stables provides intergenerational equestrian opportunities as well as boarding, training, lessons, and a therapeutic riding program.
