Mayville residents facing drug charges

CHAUTAUQUA — Three Mayville residents are facing drug charges after a traffic stop early Saturday.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Centralia-Hartfield Road for failing to signal turn. The operator was identified as David R. Ralph, 30.

Ralph was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. He was taken into custody and a check of his driving history showed that he had a prior conviction for driving while intoxicated in the past 10 years, making this arrest a felony. He also was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A passenger in the vehicle who was identified as Will D. Lutgen, 55, was found to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Another passenger Jennifer R. McConnell, 50, was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and was taken into custody.

After processing all three subjects were released with appearance tickets.
