The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates recently held their annual banquet at the Sheridan VFW, Route 20 in Sheridan. Prof. Raymond Rushboldt served as emcee. He opened the meeting portion with the pledge of allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for all deceased club members.

The head table was then introduced, which included Joe Rozen, president, Pat Begier, vice-president, Tom Halicki, treasurer, Jim Pryll, secretary, and trustees Dolores Mauer, Shane Boyle, Ed “Pinky” Ziegler, and Kelly and State Senator George Borrello, who was the guest speaker. Other guests included Fredonia Mayor Doug Essek and his wife, Julie. The mayor took time to plug his village’s efforts in the Small Business Revolution. He expressed his optimism in winning and thanked all those who voted for the village.

After Rushboldt swore in the new officers, Borrello took the podium. He spoke about his experiences so far in Albany, and things he’d like to see happen, like the repeal of the new bail bond laws. His speech was received enthusiastically by the group of nearly 100, which gave him a standing ovation.

Under the president’s comments, Rozen congratulated the village of Fredonia and its mayor for its efforts to win the Small Business Revolution. He stated that he and his wife, Janet, voted daily for the village. He also thanked all those for coming to the banquet and their clubs for all they contribute to their communities.

The next regular meeting of the Club Associates was held Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Dom Polski Club, 179 Lake Shore Drive East in Dunkirk.
