Westfield woman charged in morning stabbing
WESTFIELD — A Westfield woman has been charged after a victim claimed this morning that he was stabbed on Felton Raod.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to the alleged assault in progress involving a knife around 5:30. Upon arrival the injured victim identified the suspect as Rachel A Blanchard, 37, who had fled the scene.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s K9 units responded to the scene. K9 Link was able to locate Blanchard approximately one mile away hiding in a barn off of Prospect Station Road.
Blanchard, who had an additional warrant for fourth-degree criminal Mischief was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree menacing and possession of a hypodermic instrument.
