Former Fredonia woman is back in U.S. from Peru

Jessica Gee Nosworthy

After more than 30 hours of travel, a former Fredonia woman is back in the United States.

Jessica Gee Nosworthy, in a Facebook post from Sunday, said she was tired but thrilled to be back at home in Florida. “I have made it back home to the USA!” she said “Thank you for all the help and warm wishes.

Nosworthy had arrived in Peru right before the country shut everything down due to the coronavirus. She reached out to the OBSERVER and other media to tell of her plight as well as other Americans.

“I am still in Lima, stuck like 1,600 of other Americans across Peru. We’ve been calling the airlines and holding for hours to talk to someone and there is nothing until after May 4, and even that isn’t definite,” she said March 20.

Days after the articles were published, representatives from U.S. Rep. Tom Reed and U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer reached out to assist Nosworthy in her plight.

Her post on Facebook, happy to be home, came around 4:30 p.m.
