Chautauqua County Clerk Larry Barmore is removing local Department of Motor Vehicle drop boxes.

“After careful consideration, I have decided that the temporary drop boxes that we have placed at the Dunkirk and Mayville DMV offices do not offer our employees adequate protection from the COVID-19 virus. Effective Monday April 6, the drop boxes will have been removed at these two offices.

“The outdoor drop box at the Jamestown DMV will still be available for use. All submissions will now have to be mailed to a DMV office or placed in the outdoor drop box at our Jamestown DMV office.”

The mailing address for the Dunkirk area is 3988 Vineyard Drive, Dunkirk, NY 14048. The mailing address for the Mayville area is 7 North Erie Street, Mayville, NY 14757. The mailing address for the Jamestown area is 512 W. 3rd Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.

“Whether by mail or drop box, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope large enough to hold what you are requesting and include your phone number as we will need to contact you for payment. Any forms that you need can be found on the NYS DMV website at www.dmv.ny.gov,” said Barmore.
