Four students and two staff from Jamestown Community College’s Liberty Partnerships Program participated in Advocacy Day in Albany on Feb. 12.

The event, sponsored by the New York Student Aid Alliance, provided students the opportunity to share their experiences in the Liberty Partnerships program with Assemblymen Andrew Goodell and Joseph Giglio and state Senator George Borrello.

Brianne Buchanan, a Dunkirk High School senior shared, “The trip to Albany was very educational and inspirational. It definitely gave me a different perspective. We were able to give our own insight on the program and have the gentlemen hear it from a younger bias.”

Borrello remarked, “I was so impressed with the students and the progress they have made. What a wonderful and worthwhile program that is helping young kids achieve their potential.”
