This would have been the 96th consecutive year that J. Carter Knapp Forestville American Legion Post 953 would have had a Memorial Day Parade and ceremony. Even though COVID-19 rained on the parade, so to speak, post members still honored veterans by placing flags at seven cemeteries, performing a 21-gun salute at the cemeteries and Memorial on Mall in Forestville and placing crosses around the Memorial Stone at the legion.
