Cassadaga Arbor Day moved to October

CASSADAGA — The Tree Committee met recently to discuss the Arbor Day event that was planned for May 2.

The committee decided it best to reschedule the Arbor Day event for October 3 because of the pandemic. The committee reports that the same events will take place and it will be acceptable to plant trees in the fall.

At the April Village board meeting, Mayor of Cassadaga, Bill Dorman, proclaimed Arbor Day in Cassadaga to be on October 3 in 2020.

“I hereby proclaim October 3, 2020 as Arbor Day in the Village of Cassadaga, and I urge all citizens to celebrate Arbor Day and to support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands, and further, I urge all citizens to plant trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of this and future generations.”
