Zoom for summer reading

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library is inviting residents and youth to attend two programs as part of its Summer Reading Program: “Imagine Your Story.”

On Thursday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Poet and Oral Memoirist Michael Czarnecki will share stories from his own life that resonate on the theme. Growing up in eastside, blue collar, Polish community Buffalo, how could he ever have imagined he would end up living on a remote hilltop in Steuben County while making his living for over a quarter of a century now through the creative word? Join him as he relates some of his experiences along that decades-long path he has traveled. There will be an Open Mic after his presentation for you to share a memoir of your own. Limit three minutes.

The following week, on Thursday, July 9, from 7 to 9 p.m., Czarneck will lead a workshop that will encourage you to write your own stories that resonate with the theme, “Imagine Your Story.” This workshop is open to all levels of writing ability and to various ways that you can interpret the theme. Did you ever imagine you would be where you are now when you were younger? What do you imagine for your future self? Do you maybe have a fiction story swirling around inside that you want to bring out in written words? Join Michael to receive encouragement to “Imagine Your Story.”

These events are funded in part by Poets & Writers with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Both of these events will be taking place virtually on ZOOM. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83206754574
