Roundabout work, detour to take place next week

Roundabout work next week will likely cause motorists in the region some headaches starting next week.

Starting Tuesday, the New York State Department of Transportation announced that utility work is scheduled on Route 20 at Route 60. As a result, road closures will occur. Motorists will be directed to follow a posted detour.

Route 20 will be closed at Route 60 at the roundabout. Eastbound traffic on Route 20 will be detoured onto McAllister Road during daylight hours. This detour will last approximately one week.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
