The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry will host an Andre’s Famous Chicken Barbecue and lawn sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the ministry’s headquarters, 319 Washington Ave., Dunkirk.

There will be reasonably priced items for sale. Tickets for the barbecue are $10 each and can be bought in advance or at the event. For more information, call 366-1787.

Chautauqua County Rural Ministry’s clientele has grown during COVID-19, as has the agency’s workload. The ministry has added food distribution days made possible by the Nourish NY grant. Its three food programs have seen a significant increase in meals served and distributed. In July, we distributed and served 26,991 meals, 28,495 in August and 29,573 in September, totaling more than 85,000 meals in 90 days. There has been a financial impact due to the virus. Chautauqua County Rural Ministry has had some generous donations and is hosting the chicken barbecue and lawn sale to raise additional money.
