Several Jamestown Community College students, staff, and faculty shared their insights during a Veterans Day observance on Nov. 11. The event, which was held in the student veterans lounges at JCC’s Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses with a Zoom connection, provided participants the opportunity to recognize the impact military service has had on their lives and careers. Forty veterans are enrolled at JCC this semester. Sharon Hodgdon, senior financial aid assistant and veterans’ services coordinator on JCC’s Cattaraugus County Campus, seated at right in the center screen, outlined the importance of her time in the U.S. Army and how the experience shaped her college and professional careers. Others also emphasized the significance of their military service.
