Monday is deadline to order a wreath from the Audubon
JAMESTOWN — One start for holiday decorating and gift giving could be the purchase of a fresh wreath from the Audubon Community Nature Center’s Holiday Wreath Fundraiser.
Monday, Nov. 23, is the deadline to order a beautiful fresh, locally-made Frasier fir wreath that supports Audubon as well as local business.
Donors can choose either a plain wreath of fresh greens or a “Uniquely Audubon” wreath that includes fresh cut berries, pinecones, and other items carefully harvested from Audubon’s grounds. Wreaths are made on a wire frame and completed sizes range between 18- and 20-inches.
The wreaths of fresh greens are $26. Those with fresh greens and Uniquely Audubon decor are $42. Quantities are limited.
Proceeds from the Holiday Wreath Fundraiser support the Audubon Community Nature Center. To place an order by Monday, Nov. 23, call 569-2345 or click through AudubonCNC.org.
Orders can be picked up at Audubon on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4-5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Donors can decorate a plain wreath with natural items by signing up for the Decorating with Greens Make-n-Take classes on Saturday, Dec. 5. A variety of materials will be on hand to create one-of-kind decorations suited to your particular taste. For details and to register, click on “Register for Upcoming Programs” at AudubonCNC.org.
ACNC is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren.
The first floor of the Nature Center building, including the Blue Heron Gift Shop, live animals, and the 2020 Nature Photography Contest winning photographs, is open to the public Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Because not all of the building is accessible, admission is by donation only.
Visitors are welcome to visit the 600-acre nature preserve from dawn to dusk daily. While practicing safe social distancing measures, visitors can walk the grounds and six miles of trails, and view Liberty, Audubon’s non-releasable Bald Eagle.
