NCCF announces adult scholarship opportunities

Even during these uncertain academic times, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation offers nontraditional college students assistance to reach their educational goals. Listed below are three scholarships available to those students returning to college or pursuing a new career path.

The Chadwick Bay NYS Women Inc. Scholarship. This scholarship is for women currently enrolled in college. The requirements are simple – completion of one semester of college with a GPA of 2.5 or above and an essay outlining educational goals. NYS Women Inc.’s mission is “to build powerful women personally, professionally and politically.” The organization meets this mission through its scholarship. This scholarship builds on their vision “to make a difference in the lives of working women.” Visit nccfoundation.org/cb-scholarship for application, requirements, and additional information.

The Ruth C. Stacy Counselor Scholarship. Dr. Ruth C. Stacy of Mayville established this scholarship to encourage students to meet the demand for skilled counselors. A skilled mental health and school counselor herself, Dr. Stacy was a strong advocate of the need for certified, experienced counselors. Students accepted into an accredited mental health or school counseling Master’s Degree graduate program are urged to apply for this scholarship. For additional information, requirements, and an electronic application, visit nccfoundation.org/stacy-scholarship.

The Benson-Cash Family Scholarship. The Benson family created this scholarship to assist adults in or have recently left the workforce and are applying for college or a trade school. Students may be changing jobs, retraining in their current position, looking to advance, or starting a new career. For the application, additional information, and requirements, visit nccfoundation.org/bensoncash-scholarship.

Completed applications for these three scholarships are due to the NCCF by February 16, 2021. Mail or drop off application forms to 212 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk, N.Y. 14048.
