Democrats sought for Sheridan elections
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Democratic Committee has not been able to hold an actual meeting due to COVID concerns, but the town chairman and representative would like to get the word out to any Sheridan resident interested in becoming a Democratic candidate for any of the offices open for the upcoming election.
The following offices are available: Sheridan town supervisor, town clerk, highway superintendent, and two of the Town Board seats. The county legislator for Sheridan’s district is also included in this election cycle.
Names of interested candidates should be submitted to the Chautauqua County Democratic Chairman, Norm Green, as soon as possible. Designating petitions can go out for signatures today and must be filed with the county by April 1. The general election will be on Nov. 2.
Anyone with a sincere interest in community service and desire to participate in governing their hometown of Sheridan may contact either the town chair, Richard Langworthy, or representative Susan Bigler.
Also, the county committee chair may be reached via CHQDEM@gmail.com. The county website is chqdem.org which also gives information.
