The Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce will host its Red Brick Road Virtual Scavenger Hunt, unveiling a series of videos at noon Saturday.

Wizard of Oz themed items will appear strategically placed in each of the videos as a visual clue. These items include: Flying Monkey, Oil Can, Scarecrow, Red Slippers, Picnic Basket and Toto, Magic Wand, Lion, Tin Oz sign, one Yellow Brick and one Red Brick. When a viewer sees the clue, they can fill out an online form to enter the hunt. Viewers can enter once for each video. The more entries, the greater the chances of winning. Prize packages include a variety of items donated by local attractions, as well as ShopLocalCHQ Gift Cards from the Chamber of Commerce at $50, $100, and $250.

Participating attractions include Audubon Community Nature Center, Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, Fenton History Center, Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Lucy Desi Museum, Northwest Arena, Martz-Kohl Observatory, James Prendergast Library, Robert H. Jackson Center, and Roger Tory Peterson Institute.

“We wanted a way to highlight our outstanding local attractions, even when some of them have not been able to welcome in-person visitors for many months,” said Joanna Dahlbeck, Jamestown Community Chamber coordinator. “This is a way to do that, and to have some fun at the same time.”

In addition, some local businesses have provided video commercials to go with the attractor interviews.

All of the episodes will be released in rapid succession on Saturday at noon on Facebook and on YouTube. Each episode will include a link to a simple web form where viewers can enter the scavenger hunt.

There is no cost to view the video segments and no cost to enter the scavenger hunt.

“We are grateful for the support of so many in the community that helped to make this happen,” Dahlbeck added. “We have had tremendous volunteer support from Jacob Feldt, as well as outstanding input from our local attractions and businesses. This truly is a community effort.”
