Gowanda gets update on capital project

GOWANDA — During his superintendent’s report at Gowanda’s Board of Education meeting last week, Dr. Robert Anderson gave an update on the ongoing capital building project.

Though school was not in session due to the second spring break, the project continues. In the high and middle schools, the new technology room is having its floor polished, and the chilled water piping is being installed throughout the building. In addition, the pool gutter draining system core has been drilled to replace the drain body. Dr. Anderson said that the pool has been a hot topic among many people.

“Folks have asked about the pool,” Anderson said. “It’s our goal to have that repaired by the summer, but it is a complicated repair at this point.”

Anderson noted that looking at the outside of the school, you may not notice a lot going on, but inside, the renovations are being done.

“We’re on schedule and a lot of things are happening,” he said. “By May or June, you’ll see some things start to transform in the main entrance, and it’s very exciting to see this building transformed.”
