Audubon accepting rummage sale items

Audubon Community Nature Center Nature Educators Katie Finch (left) and Chelsea Jandreau are pictured with some of the items that were donated for last year’s rummage sale. Except for Sunday, from Friday, May 14, through Thursday, May 20, Audubon is accepting donations for this year’s sale at the Nature Center on May 22 and 23.

The Audubon Community Nature Center is accepting items for its upcoming rummage sale from Friday, May 14, through Thursday, May 20.

The only day items are not accepted is Sunday. Items can be dropped off during regular business hours, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended drop-off hours on Thursday, May 20, are until 6:30 p.m.

The sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 22 and 23.

Audubon will not accept any electronics or clothing. Items that are severely damaged or dirty are unlikely to be purchased, and ACNC does not want to be responsible for disposing of a significant amount of leftover/unwanted items.

All items will be available for purchase by donation, with only a select few “suggested prices.” Any items left at the end of the sale will not be returned. Remaining items will be donated directly to Jamestown’s Community Helping Hands.

In a normal year, Audubon’s education programs include nearly 20,000 contacts that provide opportunities for students to learn about the natural world, and almost 30,000 students and visitors come to the grounds.

All sale proceeds will be donated directly back to the Nature Center to support these activities.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. While practicing safe social distancing measures, visit six miles of trails on the 600-acre nature preserve from dawn to dusk daily.

The Nature Center building includes the Blue Heron Gift Shop, live animals, and the winning photographs from the 2020 Nature Photography Contest. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is by donation.
