Giant yard sale accepting donations

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold its 17th Annual Giant Yard Sale on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, 1089 Central Ave. in Dunkirk. Hot dogs and drinks will be sold both days from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be a bake sale, basket drawings, and a drawing for a special “Baker’s Dream” package.

This event is LHS’s biggest fundraiser of the year, as the organization works to help companion animals be safe, healthy, and find permanent, loving homes.

Items to be contributed to the Yard Sale can be dropped off at Floral Hall, Tuesday, Aug. 17 through Thursday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. LHS respectfully asks that donated objects be in saleable, gently used condition. (Please, no large appliances, metal bed springs, encyclopedias, magazines, electronics (for example, TVs, computer monitors, towers, printers), or clothing (except shoes). Please do not bring Yard Sale donation items to the Adoption Center.

There will be hand sanitizer, wipes, and face masks available on site. If not fully vaccinated, please wear a mask at the Yard Sale, as well as during donation times.

LHS appreciates the community’s support of this major fundraiser. Call 672-1991, visit the Lakeshore Humane Society on Facebook, or go to www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org for more information.
