Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupon distribution event this Saturday
The Chautauqua County Office for Aging Services is set to hold its annual Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupon distribution event. The program provides a printed booklet of five coupons, worth $4 each, to use at any participating farmers market or farm stand for those 60 years of age or older and make less than $1,986 per month.
Adults who meet the income and age criteria are eligible to receive one coupon booklet from one of the SFMNP distribution events. Distribution events will be held at the Dunkirk Farmer’s Market on July 14 from 9 a.m. to noon and the Fredonia Farmer’s Market on July 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. Local Office for Aging Services staff will be on-site to distribute the booklets to eligible participants.
The first is to be held at the Jamestown Public Market on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until supplies last. Local Office for Aging Services staff will be on-site at the Public Market to distribute the booklets to eligible participants. Once received, coupons can be used at any participating market or farm stand until Nov. 1. Currently, the following markets and farm stands are participating: Dunkirk Farmer’s Market, Fredonia Farmer’s Market, Jamestown Public Market, Roberto Fred Farm Stand and Abers Acres Farm Stand.
