Silver Creek seniors meet, celebrate birthdays

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Sept. 14 with 33 members present.

The group started with singing happy birthday to the July and August honorees, followed by cake and ice cream and an assortment of cheeses and pepperoni. President Ed Newman then opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and everyone singing God Bless America. Pauline Flitt read “Faith in Tomorrow” and said a blessing for all of us. President Newman also recognized Teri Weinheimer and Marcia Stevens as new members.

Winners of the gifts and potted plants were: Ernie Hilliker, Eleanor Lemiszko, Annette Hoeber, Ginny Chesbro and Jim Spano. 50-50 winners were MaryAnn Seibert, Sally Shevlin and Ginny. Lucky winners of the Wheel were: Teri, Kim Adams, Max Church (twice), Jim (twice), Joan Suski (twice), Lorrie Newman, Sherry Spano, Ernie, Earl Sheeler, Gene Chesbro, Claudia Ahl, Marge Church, Ruth Sheeler, Ginny, and Sally Conover. Ed called bingo and the winners were: Gene (twice), Marcia, Ron Conover, Sue Borowski, Sherry, Earl, Sally C. (twice) and Ginny.

Next week luncheon will be sloppy joes, salads and desserts. The meeting closed with singing “Fairy Tales Can Come True”. Some members stayed to play Dominoes.

The Silver Creek Senior group meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. Visitors are always welcome to join in the food and fun. Call President Newman at 934-2170 for more information.
