Waterspout Forms Over Lake Near Ripley

A waterspout was spotted around 8 a.m. Thursday on Lake Erie from Welch Hill Road in the town of Ripley. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a waterspout is a funnel that contains an intense vortex of small horizontal extent and which occurs over water.
