Gowanda holiday program helps area families

GOWANDA — The Gowanda Lions Club and Gowanda Police Department continue to be overwhelmed by the support the community provides to the “Holiday Helping Hands Program” each year.

This year, 64 families were served while gifts were distributed to 164 children and food gift cards to 37 families.

Many thanks to Designer Pools, Ladies of Gowanda Harley Davidson, Gowanda Free Methodist Church, Trinity United Church of Christ, Gowanda School District Employees, Community Bank Employees, Kiwanis Club of Gowanda, Stroud Electric and Plumbing, Honks Grape and Grain Inc., Collins Firemans Company Auxiliary, Creekside Physical Therapy, Gernatt Asphalt Products Inc., Gowanda Area Federal Credit Union, Gowanda Shrine Club, Gowanda Fire Department & Firemans Auxiliary, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5007. The group also received financial and toy donations from many, many generous individuals.

Gowanda Ford continues to support Holiday Helping Hands with their “Fill the Pick Up Truck” program, which provides a truckload of gifts and food. Many thanks to the Collins Public Library,Community Bank N.A., Goode’s Family Restaurant, Gowanda Harley Davidson, Gowanda Nursing Home, Gowanda Police Department, Johnson’s Ceramics, McCormack’s Hardware and Shop N Save for allowing us to put toy donation boxes at their locations.
