Five jailed after city raid nets drugs
A city property was condemned, and five area residents were jailed after “methamphetamine, scales and packaging materials” were found during a search involving several police agencies this week.
Charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia were 34-year-old Shawn Sobczak, 51-year-old Bryan Livingston Sr., 49-year-old Joseph Angelo, 33-year-old Kimberly Phanco and 49-year-old Christina Heiler.
Members of the Jamestown Metro and Southern Tier Regional drug task forces executed a search warrant Tuesday at 307 Monroe St. The Jamestown Police Department’s SWAT team assisted with entry into the residence, which occurred around 1:30 p.m.
All five occupants were transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment in court. Officials with the city Department of Development responded and later condemned the home, JPD said in a news release.
Officers were assisted Tuesday by the Ellicott Police Department, Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, New York State Police K-9 unit, Jamestown Fire Department and Chautauqua County EMS.
