A Chautauqua County grand jury has indicted a 34-year-old Dunkirk man on 15 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child. The charges, class E felonies, were announced Tuesday by the District Attorney’s Office.

Nickolas Szopinski was arraigned in Chautauqua County Court last Thursday where he pleaded not guilty. A county court clerk said the Dunkirk man was released on his own recognizance.

The 15-count indictment was filed on March 7. A May 26 conference has been set.

No details regarding what led to the charges have been announced. Court records list the New York State Police, Jamestown barracks, as the arresting agency.

The DA’s office also announced the following indictments:

¯ a charge of second-degree burglary for 45-year-old Danielle Howie of Jamestown. Howie pleaded not guilty to the single charge during arraignment March 24. The DA’s office said the indictment is the result of an incident that occurred in October 2021.

¯ three counts of first-degree criminal contempt for Hashaun Leeper. The 46-year-old pleaded not guilty during arraignment Monday in county court.
