¯ SILVER CREEK — A village resident who displayed and discharged a handgun in a residence is facing a number of charges.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported that at 3:30 p.m. Monday, it received a report of a suspicious situation on Lafayette Street. After an investigation it is alleged that Deron A. Weaver, 36, entered the residence of another, displayed and discharged a handgun within the home. Weaver was located by Investigators a short time later and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree menacing.

He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail where he was arraigned via Centralized Arraignment and held without bail.

¯ SHERMAN — Craig J. Weinheimer, 36, of North East, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a BAC of 0.08% or greater and speed in excess of 55 mph. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 6:21 p.m. Tuesday on Sherman-Stedman Road in the town of Sherman for a traffic violation. An investigation found that Weinheimer was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in court later.

¯ ELLICOTT — Michael S. Elia, 30, of North Tonawanda, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle and failure to use designated lane. Deputies on April 16 received a vehicle complaint on Route 60 in the town of Ellicott and located the vehicle later in Jamestown. It was found that Elia was allegedly driving while impaired by something other than alcohol. He was processed and released with tickets to appear in Jamestown City Court later. Additional charges are pending.

¯ FRENCH CREEK — Anthony M. Mann, 34, of Clymer, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a BAC of 0.18% or greater, refusal to take breath test and no stopping/standing/parking on public highway. Deputies responded at 6:37 p.m. Friday to Marks Corners Road in the town of French Creek to check the wellbeing of a man parked on the side of the road. An investigation found that Mann had allegedly been operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

¯ POMFRET — Ronnie W. Payne Jr., 52, of Houston, Texas, was charged with driving while intoxicated, no stopping/standing/parking on highway and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 11:56 p.m. April 21 in the town of Pomfret for a traffic violation and to check the driver’s wellbeing. An investigation found that Payne was intoxicated. He was processed and taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ FREDONIA — Zachary A. Crandall, 25, of Dunkirk, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, moving from lane unsafely, driving on shoulder and refusal to take a breath test. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 2:05 a.m. Saturday in Fredonia for multiple traffic violations. An investigation found that Crandall was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Fredonia Village Court later.
