The conviction is a result of a “lengthy law enforcement investigation” by the Dunkirk Police Department with Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt thanked the department for its assistance on the case.

The indictment was filed Aug. 24 by a Chautauqua County grand jury. Gajewski pleaded not guilty to the charges during arraignment in Chautauqua County Court on Sept. 1.
