Hanover solar project contract nearing approval

HANOVER — The Angell Road Solar Project in Hanover is nearing the final stages.

A final contract is in the process of being drawn up for board approval to move forward with the project for solar energy panels to be installed in the town.

“I want the board to make sure that Schedule A, the financial end of it, is good. … That’s the periodic table of payments during the host agreement,” said town attorney Jeff Passafaro.

Once the final version of the contract is approved by Passafaro, it will then be up to Hanover Town Supervisor Todd Johnson to authorize the project to proceed. That process is expected to be completed before the next town meeting on Sept. 12. Johnson received a resolution at the most recent meeting to authorize the project, with board approval, prior to the next meeting.

“After attorney Passafaro does review it one more time and he signs off, then at that point, the board will be authorizing me to sign off on the project and we can get going,” said Johnson.

Starting at $3.50/week.
