Dunkirk moving to finalize budget

The city of Dunkirk has scheduled a meeting and a hearing to wrap up its 2023 budget.

Councilman-at-large David Damico announced the sessions at last week’s Common Council meeting.

One more budget review meeting has been added. That’s set for today at 5:15 p.m. in the City Hall conference room.

The required public hearing on the budget is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Dec. 6, prior to the council’s next regular meeting. The council is then likely to vote on the budget at the meeting.

As originally proposed by Mayor Wilfred Rosas, Dunkirk’s 2023 budget is $26,376,325, a 6% increase from 2022. Property tax, water and sewer rates were unchanged from 2022.
