Sheriff’s K-9 tracks missing juveniles in Ripley

RIPLEY — A K-9 with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office located two missing juveniles in the town of Ripley.

Deputies were summoned at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Johnson Road in Ripley.

It was reported that two youths, ages 7 and 16, became lost in a wooded area and were unable to find their way out.

“Upon arrival, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was deployed into the woods,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. “K-9 Bentley was able to track and locate the two missing juveniles. Deputies were able to get them out of the woods safely and with out injuries.

“The two juveniles were returned to their parents.”
