Chadwick Bay group salutes CVCS teacher

In November, the Chadwick Bay Women Chapter of New York State Women met at the El Azteca Restaurant to honor Jennifer Ringler as our teacher of the year.

After graduating from Fredonia High School, Ringler went on to Niagara University on a golf scholarship where she played on the Division I Women’s Golf Team for four years. While at Niagara, she studied Early Childhood and Childhood Education with a Concentration in English.

It has always been a goal of hers to be a teacher and Niagara allowed her to work towards that goal while also continuing her competitive golf career. After graduating in 2015, she continued her education at Niagara earning her Master’s Degree in Literacy, in 2017.

Upon returning home to Fredonia, she began her teaching career in the Cassadaga Valley Central School District. She has just started her sixth-year teaching in the district at Sinclairville Elementary School.

Over the last six years she has been the chairman of CVCS annual Literacy Night. This is an event is held in the Elementary School and invites all students and families to participate in various literacy activities.

The goal of the event is to give students and families a chance to see new ways to incorporate reading and writing in their daily lives. We are hoping to bring this event back to our school this year, as we have had to postpone the event the last few years. During the spring sports season, Ringler is the Head Coach for the Girl’s Varsity Golf Team at the Cassadaga school district. This program was started five years ago and has been growing each year.
