‘Light Up Cassadaga’ to be held this Saturday

CASSADAGA — The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga proudly announce “Light Up Cassadaga” which will be held at Ames Common (the corner of Maple Ave. and Route 60) on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Beginning at 3:30 p.m. Santa Claus will arrive via fire truck and will listen to children’s requests until 5 p.m.. The Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will be offering free hot chocolate. There will be fire pits to help keep people warm. Attendees can also walk the short distance to the Cassadaga Library where children can choose a free book, do an activity and refreshments will be served. A living nativity will be presented across the street at Park Church, 25 Maple Avenue.

Citizens for a Better Cassadaga is selling “Home for the Holidays Basket” raffle tickets. This basket will include all kinds of goodies featuring items from local businesses. The winner will be drawn on Christmas Day. There is a Remembrance Tree at the commons to honor loved ones that cannot be with us. Anyone interested in a Remembrance Tree ornament ($5) in memory of a loved one, or a raffle ticket ($5 each or 3 for $10), call 716-785-5736 or 716-679-8521.

At 5 p.m., caroling will begin at Ames Common and the park will light up with thousands of lights.

At 6 p.m., the newly formed Valley Community Choir, will present the Christmas cantata, “O Holy Night” at Park Church.

The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga wish to spread Christmas spirit to all and cordially invite everyone to attend this holiday event.
