ASHVILLE — The driver of a sport utility vehicle and a passenger of a school bus were transported to UPMC Chautauqua following a crash Thursday morning in the town of North Harmony.

First responders were alerted at about 8:20 a.m. to a crash involving an SUV and school bus on Route 394. The bus, Jamestown Public Schools said, was transporting two students to an educational program at the time of the collision.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the SUV operated by Tori Carlson, 29, of Jamestown, entered Route 394 from Bly Hill Road. Deputies say the vehicle went into the intersection due to “unreasonable speed” for the condition of the road Thursday morning.

“This caused a Jamestown Board of Education School bus to strike her vehicle,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “Carlson and a passenger on the school bus were transported by ambulance to UPMC for injuries.” The severity of their injuries was not mentioned.

The two students on the bus were not injured, the department said.
